Easy French Macaron Recipe

This is possibly the easiest French meringue method. Perfect for home baking.

Rolled Marshmallow Fondant

This homemade marshmallow fondant recipe uses ingredients which are probably already in your pantry. Avoid tearing and wrinkles with this super stretchy and easy-to-make decorating fondant. Simple and delicious, this easy fondant recipe is softer than our standard fondant, with a very sweet taste that kids love.

The creation of cheeseburgers, an iconic American food, is dated back to the Roaring 20s. Today the cheeseburger is being honored every year on National Cheeseburger Day (September 18). After a juicy burger, wouldn't it be nice to finish the meal with a yummy dessert that also looks like a burger? Meet the "Cheeseburger" macaron, the darling vanilla and chocolate macaron that looks just like a cheeseburger.

INGREDIENTS:
Shells:

2 egg whites
3/4 cup almond flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 drops of brown gel food coloring
1 oz white sesame seeds for decoration

Filling:
4 oz dark chocolate chips
2 oz whipping cream

16 oz marshmallows (mini or regular)
4 tbs cold water
8 cups powdered sugar
Additional powered sugar and shortening to prevent sticking when handling fondant

DIRECTIONS:
To make the shells:
  1. Follow my “Easy French Macaron Recipe”.
  2. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on the shells prior to baking.
  3. Let cool completely before assembling the macaron sandwiches.

To make the whipped chocolate ganache filling:
  1. Place the chocolate chips and the whipping cream in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave at 80% power for 40 seconds.
  3. Mix the melted chocolate and cream until the mixture becomes a smooth ganache.
  4. Cool the ganache in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  5. Whip the ganache for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  6. Place the chocolate ganache in a piping bag.

To make the marshmallow fondant for the cheese, lettuce, and tomato:
  1. Follow the "Rolled Marshmellow Fondant" recipe on Wilton.com (link on the left).
  2. To make the cheese, add 2 drops of yellow and 1 drop of orange gel food coloring to 1/3 of the fondant. Roll out the fondant to a 1/8 inch thick. Cut out small squares with a cookie cutter or a knife.
  3. To make the lettuce, add 2 drops of green and 1 drop of yellow gel food coloring to 1/3 of the fondant. Roll out the fondant to a 1/8 inch thick. Cut out small circles with a cookie cutter. Use your fingers to crinkle the edges.
  4. To make the tomato slices, add 5 drops of bright red gel food coloring to 1/3 of the fondant. Roll out the fondant to a 1/8 inch thick. Cut out small circles with a cookie cutter.
  5. Have fun assembling the cheeseburger to your liking.
